MISS AMERICA
The Miss America Organization is one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. This assistance is not just for the handful of women who become Miss America, but is available to the over young women across the country who compete in the local competitions as well.
The Miss America Competition was organized in 1921 by a group of Atlantic City merchants and civic leaders. The first Miss America Pageant was a spectacular two-day festival, culminating with a beachfront parade called the "Bather's Revue." The festival was to be a special event designed to extend the summer season by one week.
Today, Miss America and its 1,500 Local and State Organizations comprise the largest single source of scholarship funds available to young women in the world. An estimated 300,000 volunteers donate more than 6 million hours each year to local, state and national competitions. This unique organization provides scholarships at every level of competition.

VALUES AND OPERATING PRINCIPLES
FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY

Our goal is to help young women pursue their individual aspirations and create value for higher education in STEAM associated programs. We value our relationships with the Universities, junior colleges and technical institutions throughout the state.
CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT

We will empower our volunteers and staff through collaborative and effective communication.
COMMITMENT TO THE CAUSE
We will ensure that there is integrity in every aspect of the selection process. Our role is to advocate for all local and state titleholders; past, present and future.

Children's Miracle Network
The Miss America Organization has partnered with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to raise funds and awareness for children's hospitals throughout the United States. Contestants competing in Miss America-sponsored pageants are expected to raise a minimum of $100 in donations for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and the Miss America Scholarship Fund. It's not an entrance fee, but a service requirement.
In addition, each new Miss America becomes the goodwill ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, speaking on behalf of kids treated at children's hospitals and raising awareness around the country. It's just another way the Miss America Organization helps young women leave a legacy of service, scholarship and support.
