To become a Miss Texas candidate, you must enter and win a local competition or win an alternate competition/opportunity. The Miss Texas Competition held each year in June at the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts in Richardson, Texas. This year it will be held during the last week of June with the crowning on Saturday, July 1st!

Each candidate must have a service initiative/platform that they will advocate during their year of service.
- Personal Interview with Judges
- Talent Competition
- Red Carpet / Evening Wear
- On-Stage Interview & Social Impact Pitch
Each candidate must have a service initiative/platform that they will advocate during their year of service.
Age
- (1) must be at least nineteen (19) years of age by December 31st of the year of the state competition (2023),
- (2) Must not be older than twenty-six (26) years of age on December 31st of the year of the state competition (2023).
- Must fulfill ONE of the following:
- Reside in the state of competition, OR
- Enrolled in and physically attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited college or university, OR
- Employed on a full-time basis in the state of Texas.
- Must be a United States citizen.
