The Miss Texarkana Scholarship Pageant is a closed pageant. Contestants must live within a 60 mile radius of Texarkana and must meet the Miss Texas contestant requirements. Celebrating it's 48th year, it is one of the only local preliminaries in the Miss America system in which the winner has the opportunity to compete in two state pageants (Texas and Arkansas) because the winner has a two year commitment.
