The scholarship fund is based on a rich scholastic tradition which has been the cornerstone of the Miss America program since 1945. Today, educational advancement, achievement, and public services continue to be the primary objectives for both the Miss America and Miss Texas Organizations in the face of changing roles for women in American society. The Miss America Organization is one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. In 2003, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance.
In 2002, the Miss Texas Organization and its local pageants provided over of these in cash and in-kind tuition scholarships. Click here to see a full listing of the Miss Texas awards and their winners.
Most recently, the Miss Texas Organization has become a source of scholarship funds for exceptional young men in high school. In 2003, two scholarship awards in the amounts of $1,000 each to meritorious high school seniors were awarded.
Scholarship funds are contributed by corporate sponsors and individuals
who commit their support to the professional advancement of young men and women. There are
many levels of participation available to anyone who wishes to
