For the seventh consecutive year, the 53 Miss America contestants walked the clear, Plexiglas, 80 foot long retractable runway at the Fashion Show Mall. This year the contestants were decked out in beautiful designs provided by EXPRESS, who will also be providing on stage designs for the 2012 Miss America Pageant. Afterwards, there was a meet and greet session where the contestants signed autographs and photos for the public.

The 53 contestants for Miss America 2012 flipped, stacked, created original designs and dined on heaps of hot cakes in an effort to raise awareness about IHOP's National Pancake Day celebration, a nationwide fundraising effort that aims to raise $2.7 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities throughout the United States. The newly crowned 2012 Miss America will serve as a Children's Miracle Network Hospitals spokesperson in support of National Pancake Day, one of the first charity events that will kick off her year of service.
