Best advice you ever received: “Touch the ground.” It’s a piece of advice my dad shared with me that can be roughly translated to mean, “Wherever you are, be all there.” Now, whenever I find myself lingering in the past or focusing on the future, I literally stop to touch the ground I’m walking on. It has an amazing way of pulling me back into the present moment.

Biggest accomplishment: I count my biggest accomplishment as graduating Magna Cum Laude a full year early from Pepperdine University. At the time, people found it difficult to understand why I pushed myself to finish my degree in advance, but I knew it was right for me. Because of my early graduation, I was able to accept an opportunity to live and work in Southern France as a private English tutor the following fall. Although I didn't know it while walking across the graduation stage, my biggest accomplishment led me to my greatest adventure, and helped me accomplish another life goal along the way: becoming proficient in French!
